Our urinary system comprises of kidneys, ureter, bladder and urethra. A bacterial infection that affects the urinary tract of a person is known as urinary tract infection (UTI). Though the infection can affect any part of the urinary system, it is usually the lower urinary tract i.e. the urethra and the bladder that is most affected by it.
