Heartburn Information

Heartburn is a painful, burning sensation that occurs in the esophagus. Also known as pyrosis, the pain is experienced just below the breastbone and is mostly associated with the ejection of gastric acid from the mouth. Heartburn is usually caused in the chest region, but the pain may also subsidize to the other areas, such as neck, throat and jaw. Though termed as heartburn, the ailment is not associated with the heart by any chance. Stomach acidity is one of the primary reasons for heartburn.   • Wheezing or other asthma-like symptoms
  • Mild nausea
  • Formation of excessive gas
  • Fullness or heaviness in the upper abdomen
  • Pain between shoulders or in neck, following food
